PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – The Chairman of the Palm Oil Farmers Union (SPKS), Sabarudin, attended the 44th-anniversary celebration of the Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI) in Jakarta on March 6. The event was also attended by leaders and representatives from other farmer associations.
Sabarudin congratulated GAPKI on its 44-year journey, emphasizing that the organization’s maturity should drive progress in the palm oil sector. He expressed hope that as GAPKI grows, it will continue to strengthen partnerships between plantation companies and smallholder farmers, ensuring greater prosperity for farmers in the future.
“A strong partnership between palm oil farmers and plantation companies is essential for improving farmers’ livelihoods in the years to come,” Sabarudin told Palmoilmagazine.com on Thursday (6/3/2025).

He stressed that transparent and responsible farmer partnerships are crucial for the sustainable development of Indonesia’s palm oil sector. “Farmer partnerships with GAPKI members play a vital role in advancing the national palm oil industry,” he added.
Sabarudin also highlighted the importance of farmer independence, which can be strengthened through collaboration with GAPKI members. By working together, farmers can enhance their ability to manage plantations independently. “Partnerships with GAPKI members should also support farmers in achieving self-sufficiency in plantation management,” he explained.
Additionally, he expressed gratitude to GAPKI’s leadership and members for their commitment to partnering with smallholder farmers.
