PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – Nopri Pitoy, the Director of Finance at PT Austindo Nusantara Jaya Tbk. (ANJ), attributed the company’s performance in 2023 and the first quarter of 2024 to various factors.
Global uncertainties stemming from extreme weather events, economic conditions, and geopolitical issues have impacted the demand and price of crude palm oil (CPO), thereby affecting ANJ’s financial performance.
During his presentation, Nopri highlighted the significant impact of the El Nino phenomenon, which occurred from mid-to-late 2023, on the regions where ANJ operates across Indonesia. In South West Papua, excessive rainfall led to high moisture levels, resulting in various diseases, while floods occurred in North Sumatera II due to river overflow.

The mitigation efforts of ANJ showed the commitment to adapt with climate anomaly and make sure business sustainability by implementing regenerative agricultural system in our plantation cultivation,” Nopri said in public expose that Palmoilmagazine.com attended, Wednesday (5/6/2024).
