PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – Asian Agri, a major palm oil plantation company in Sumatra, is undergoing a significant transformation through the implementation of digital technology. This innovation is aimed at strengthening sustainable operations across both upstream and downstream sectors, enhancing productivity and efficiency while ensuring environmental responsibility. Asian Agri embarked on its digital journey by launching the Asian Agri Connected Plantation in 2016, followed by the Asian Agri Connected Mill in 2019. These initiatives are designed to add value to the business, improve quality and productivity, and reduce costs competitively.
Marjan Purba, Deputy Head of Digital Transformation at Asian Agri, stated that the digital transformation would enhance operational discipline and field integration, leading to higher quality work and more accurate data transparency.

“Digital transformation in palm oil plantations would escalate operational discipline and integration in the field. In the Roadmap Palm Upstream Digital Ecosystem, Asian Agri prepared digitalization concept from the plantations to the mills. Through ‘connected plantation’, the company integrated the cultivation process from the planting, nursery, water management, harvest, evacuation, and implemented ‘aerial imaging’ and ‘precision agri’.
