PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – Some plasma smallholders from the Asosiasi Petani Plasma Kelapa Sawit Indonesia (APPKSI) and sugarcane farmers who are members of the Asosiasi Petani Tebu Rakyat Indonesia (APTRI) and recently visited the house of Prabowo Subianto on Jalan Kertanegara, Jakarta.
They were accompanied by Hasjim Oemar, a plantation stakeholder who actively collaborates with sugarcane and palm oil plasma smallholders. This significant meeting aimed to discuss and enhance the welfare of plasma smallholders both in Java and outside Java.
The meeting served as a forum for smallholders and stakeholders to discuss real and concrete steps to improve the welfare and income of plasma smallholders, as quoted by Palmoilmagazine.com from Republika on Monday (13/5/2024).

Empowering the smallholders through education and training, particularly in agricultural and business management, was also emphasized as crucial for improving their welfare.
Ensuring safety and protection for plantation workers is essential to guarantee their working conditions are safe and good, with responsibility shared among the government, stakeholders, and the smallholders themselves.
