PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – The palm oil industry has emerged as a crucial driver of progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by the year 2030. The SDGs represent a commitment to sustainable development grounded in human rights, fairness, universal principles, integrity, and inclusivity.
Arief Prasetyo Adi, the Minister of Agriculture, emphasized the vital importance of nurturing the palm oil sector, spanning from its upstream to downstream components, while continuously fostering innovations in alignment with existing regulations. This strategy is designed to ensure the precise, rapid, and on-target realization of sustainable development goals.

Just like Arief told, General Directorate of Plantation and National Research Development of Riset Pengembangan Nasional (RPN) did collaboration to discuss plantation development studies particularly to encourage research initiatives from Ministry of Agriculture through enrich SDGs and pollinating insect introduction in palm oil plantations. Until now there have been 512 plant variety that Directorate of Plantation released.
“Enriching SDGs is about to get, gather, introduce new plasma cum in national scale. Introduction materials that have been gotten would be used to support research development for superior plant materials to escalate palm oil productivity nationally,” General Director of Plantation, Andi Nur Alamsyah said.
He also mentioned by having commitment and collaboration, plant material would contribute to significantly escalate plant productivity and would be more than 11 tons per hectare per year. SDGs should be realized by reinforcing palm oil industries, minimizing poverty, realizing food security, improving nutrients, supporting healthy life style, and welfare others by implementing sustainable agriculture.
One significant thing to that is by having smallholders replanting program by hoping that palm oil trees would be well cultivated, covering the needs until 2025 and the rests. This is also about to confirm enough supply for food industries, palm cooking oil, and food in palm oil – base. (T2)
