PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA — Malaysian crude palm oil (CPO) futures closed lower across all contracts on Friday (Sept. 11, 2026), pressured by market concerns over rising palm oil stocks and production in Malaysia.

The February 2027 contract also fell RM100 to RM5,148 per ton.

Trading activity increased during the session, with volume rising to 176,318 lots from 149,992 lots on Thursday (Sept. 10).

Meanwhile, total open interest increased to 349,906 contracts, compared with 340,891 contracts in the previous session.

In the physical market, the September CPO price in Southern Malaysia fell RM30 to RM4,620 per ton.

Indonesia’s KPBN CPO Price Rises

In Indonesia, the CPO price set through PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) rose to IDR 15,708 per kg on Friday.

The price increased IDR 42 per kg, or around 0.27%, from IDR 15,666 per kg on Thursday.

The contrasting price movements in Malaysia and Indonesia highlight different conditions across the two major palm oil markets. Bursa Malaysia came under pressure from concerns over higher stocks and production, while the KPBN CPO price in Indonesia continued to strengthen on a daily basis.

Market participants are expected to closely monitor developments in palm oil production, inventories and export demand for further signals on the direction of CPO prices. (P3)
