PALMOILMAGAZIINE, PEKANBARU – As April 2025 drew to a close, independent palm oil farmers in Riau faced another tough blow. The price of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) for 9-year-old palm trees dropped by IDR 25.43 per kilogram during the pricing period from April 30 to May 6, 2025.
Now, the highest FFB price stands at IDR 3,585.89 per kg — down from IDR 3,611.32 in the previous period. While this decrease may seem minor on paper, for smallholder farmers who rely on every bunch they harvest, it has real consequences.
Meanwhile, the prices for key palm oil products were set as follows: crude palm oil (CPO) at IDR 14,318.70/kg, palm kernel at IDR 14,022.09/kg, and palm shell at IDR 29.08/kg, with a K index of 92.65%.
