The decline in Malaysian exports became a key focus for market participants as they assessed near-term demand for palm oil.

Indonesia’s KPBN Inacom CPO Price

In Indonesia, CPO prices at the PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) tender also declined on Thursday.

The highest CPO bid was recorded at IDR 15,666/kg, down IDR 234/kg, or around 1.47%, from IDR 15,900/kg on Wednesday, September 9.

The decline in the KPBN Inacom tender came alongside weaker CPO futures on Bursa Malaysia, pointing to continued pressure across the regional palm oil market amid signs of softer Malaysian export demand.

However, stronger crude oil prices could provide some support to vegetable oil markets by improving the relative competitiveness of palm-based biodiesel. (P3)
