PALMOILMAGAZINE, NUSA DUA, BALI— The 21st Indonesian Palm Oil Conference (IPOC) has once again demonstrated its vital role in advancing Indonesia’s palm oil industry. As an annual strategic forum that serves as a barometer for both national and global palm oil policy and market direction, IPOC continues to draw strong attention from industry leaders, policymakers, and international stakeholders.

“The enthusiasm for this year’s event is truly remarkable,” said Mona Surya, Chairperson of the 21st IPOC Organizing Committee.

According to Mona, this year saw an influx of new sponsors, with 38 leading companies contributing to the success of the conference. The exhibition hall was fully occupied with 113 booths, showcasing the latest innovations and technologies shaping the future of the palm oil sector.

Most notably, IPOC 2025 broke a new record with 1,545 registered participants from 28 countries, a milestone that highlights the vitality and growing influence of Indonesia’s palm oil industry on the global stage.

“Beyond serving as an inspiring platform for innovation and industry advancement, IPOC has also become a powerful networking arena,” Mona added.

Recognizing the importance of relationship-building in the business ecosystem, this year’s conference once again offered a range of networking events designed to foster collaboration and partnerships. The program included a friendly golf tournament, cocktail sessions, and a networking night featuring live entertainment — all curated to encourage meaningful dialogue and lasting connections among industry players.

This year’s theme, “Navigating Complexity, Driving Growth: Governance, Biofuel Policy, and Global Trade,” captures the spirit of resilience and forward-thinking required by the industry amid unprecedented global challenges.

“The palm oil sector is facing a level of complexity never seen before,” Mona noted. “That’s why this year’s theme is particularly relevant.”

The industry continues to grapple with multiple challenges — including price volatility, stagnation in key producing regions, and significant trade barriers such as the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). Mona emphasized that both national regulations and global policies are no longer mere background factors; they are active forces shaping how Indonesia’s palm oil industry operates.

Nevertheless, Mona also highlighted that within these challenges lie enormous opportunities. This year’s conference agenda has been carefully designed to explore key areas such as Indonesia’s domestic policy direction, strategies for industrial resilience, EUDR implications, regional market insights, and the highly anticipated price outlook for palm and lauric oils.

“We hope that through thoughtful dialogue and expert discussion, IPOC 2025 will generate new perspectives, strategies, and collaborative pathways to strengthen the sustainability and competitiveness of Indonesia’s palm oil industry,” Mona concluded.
