Riau Plasma FFB Price Hits IDR 3,931.55 per Kg for September 2–8 Period

The highest Riau plasma FFB price for September 2–8, 2026, was set for nine-year-old palms, supported by an average CPO price of IDR 15,672.37 per kg and a K Index of 93.51%.

PALMOILMAGAZINE, PEKANBARU — The fresh fruit bunch (FFB) price for oil palm produced by plasma partner smallholders in Riau Province has increased for the September 2–8, 2026 pricing period, with the highest price set at IDR 3,931.55 per kg for nine-year-old palms.

The price was determined under the Riau Provincial FFB Price-Setting Team’s Resolution No. 32 of 2026 concerning the purchase price of FFB produced by plasma partner smallholders.

According to the official price-setting document obtained by PalmOilMagazine on Tuesday (Sept. 1, 2026), the pricing meeting was held at the Riau Plantation Agency office. The new prices apply from Wednesday through Tuesday, September 2–8, 2026.

The average crude palm oil (CPO) price used in the calculation for the August 24–30 sales period was IDR 15,672.37 per kg. Meanwhile, the average palm kernel price was set at IDR 13,520.92 per kg.

The K Index, another key component in the FFB pricing formula, stood at 93.51%, while the shell value was set at IDR 17.98 per kg.

Based on these components, the Riau FFB price for plasma smallholders was determined according to the age of the oil palm trees, with nine-year-old palms receiving the highest price.

The highest FFB price was recorded for nine-year-old palms at IDR 3,931.55 per kg, followed closely by eight-year-old palms at IDR 3,927.09 per kg.

Palms aged 10–20 years received an FFB price of IDR 3,910.43 per kg.

At the other end of the scale, the lowest price was recorded for 30-year-old palms at IDR 3,407.40 per kg.

The variation in prices according to palm age reflects the FFB pricing formula, which takes into account production characteristics and yields across different age groups.

 

CPO and Kernel Prices Support FFB Calculation

The latest FFB pricing also reflects the contribution of CPO and palm kernel prices to the calculation formula.

With the average CPO price at IDR 15,672.37 per kg and palm kernel at IDR 13,520.92 per kg, the resulting FFB prices were calculated using a K Index of 93.51%.

The pricing mechanism is intended to link the value received by plasma smallholders to movements in key palm oil products while differentiating prices according to the productive age of the plantations. (P3)
