The FFB price for nine-year-old oil palms reached IDR 3,878.84 per kg, supported by an average CPO price of IDR 15,810.98 per kg and a K Index of 93.34%.
PALMOILMAGAZINE, PEKANBARU — The fresh fruit bunch (FFB) purchase price for independent oil palm smallholders in Riau Province increased for the September 2–8, 2026 period, with the price for nine-year-old palms set at IDR 3,878.84 per kg.
The latest price represents an increase of IDR 50.57 per kg from IDR 3,828.27 per kg in the previous pricing period.

According to the Riau Provincial FFB Price-Setting Team’s official minutes, the new prices apply from Wednesday through Tuesday, September 2–8, 2026. The calculation uses palm oil price components recorded during the August 24–30, 2026 sales period.
The average crude palm oil (CPO) price used in the formula was set at IDR 15,810.98 per kg, while the average palm kernel price stood at IDR 13,543.50 per kg.
The K Index used in the FFB calculation was 93.34%, while the shell value was set at IDR 24.76 per kg.

The highest FFB price was set for nine-year-old palms at IDR 3,878.84 per kg, followed by eight-year-old palms at IDR 3,871.15 per kg.
Palms aged 10–20 years were priced at IDR 3,843.30 per kg, while the lowest price was recorded for 30-year-old palms at IDR 3,256.97 per kg.
The differences in FFB prices across palm age groups reflect the pricing formula used by the provincial FFB Price-Setting Team, which takes into account the productive characteristics of plantations at different stages.

CPO and Kernel Prices Support FFB Calculation
The increase in Riau’s independent smallholder FFB prices was supported by the underlying components used in the provincial pricing formula.
The average CPO price rose to IDR 15,810.98 per kg, while the average palm kernel price stood at IDR 13,543.50 per kg. These components were calculated using a K Index of 93.34% and a shell value of IDR 24.76 per kg.
The latest pricing underscores the link between smallholder FFB prices and movements in key palm oil products, while the final price varies according to the age and productivity characteristics of the oil palm trees. (P2)
