PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – The Indonesian Minister of Agriculture, Amran Sulaiman, supports the development of palm oil to downstream that produces high added value in Indonesia. According to him, as the world’s largest producer of palm oil, Indonesia must be able to synergize with Malaysia to become a barometer of world palm oil prices.
“As the world’s largest producer, Indonesia can synergize with Malaysia to become a barometer of world prices,” Amran said to Palmoilmagazine.com.
The development of national palm oil plantations, according to Minister Amran, should also be encouraged through downstreaming, so as to strengthen Indonesia’s position as the world’s largest producer.

“Downstreaming of palm oil can be done to produce added value in the country to get maximum results,” he said.
For information, Indonesia as the world’s largest crude palm oil (CPO) producer, together with Malaysia, is able to supply up to 86 percent of the world’s palm oil needs. The large ability to supply palm oil to the world market is part of the strength of Indonesian palm oil to continue to grow in the future. (T3)
