PALMOILMAGAZINE, KETAPANG – To ensure smooth and compliant export activities, the Customs of Ketapang oversaw and serviced the export of 3,998 metric tons of crude palm oil (CPO) from PT Andes Agro Investama on Friday, August 23, 2024. This oversight is part of the agency’s efforts to protect the public and support the industry.
The CPO export underwent two phases of examination. The first phase involved a physical check to verify the quantity of goods to be exported. The second phase included a laboratory test to ensure the products matched the export documentation.
“The laboratory test is crucial for confirming that the products align with the registered export information. The physical check, using sound technology, helps identify the types of products being exported,” said Subhan Khaeri, Head of Internal Obedience and Counseling at Ketapang Customs, as quoted by Palmoilmagazine.com from the Customs official page on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.

CPO is a key export commodity for Indonesia, impacting numerous global industries. Derived from the extraction of fresh fruit bunches, CPO is used in a variety of products, including cooking oil, margarine, processed foods, cosmetics, and biodiesel. “CPO is a vital product that significantly affects the food, energy, and cosmetic industries worldwide,” Subhan added.
The export supervision and service would be the real roles of the Customs to protect the people and support industries to confirm that the exports would smoothly run as the available regulation. “The export service and supervision would be the work implementation of the Customs in community protector and industrial assistance. Hopefully, this would be better in the future,” he said. (T2)
