PALMOILMAGAZINE, MEDAN – The digital transformation of crude palm oil (CPO) quality control continues to accelerate with the introduction of PROFOSS 2, a real-time Free Fatty Acid (FFA) monitoring system unveiled at The Palm Oil Mill International Conference (TPOMI4) in Medan.
The new technology enables real-time FFA measurement for every CPO tanker truck, allowing quality assessments to be conducted immediately as raw materials arrive at processing facilities.
PROFOSS 2 is integrated with the refinery weighing module of the mySAP365 Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, enabling FFA measurement results to be automatically recorded alongside the raw material receiving process.

Traditionally, FFA testing at many palm oil processing facilities has relied on manual sampling followed by laboratory analysis—a process that can take considerable time before results are available to support operational decisions.
With real-time monitoring, CPO quality data becomes instantly available, helping accelerate raw material verification and improving decision-making during plant operations. Digital data recording also ensures that quality information is systematically stored and easily traceable for audits, compliance, and operational reviews.
The system is supported by a Private Enterprise Network, which provides secure and reliable data transmission between the measurement equipment and the ERP platform throughout the inspection process.

A representative of PT SMART Engineering Industries Sdn. Bhd. said the technology was developed to improve both operational efficiency and CPO quality management across the downstream palm oil industry.
