PALMOILMAGAZINE, PONTIANAK – In 2023, the Smallholders Replanting Program (SRP) in West Kalimantan Province achieved success, covering approximately 18,573 hectares and involving 8,042 smallholders.
Erita Fitriani, the Head of Infrastructure and Plantation Protection at the Plantation and Livestock Agency in West Kalimantan Province, highlighted that SRP was implemented across various districts including Ketapang, Sambas, Bengkayang, Landak, Sanggau, Sekadau, Melawi, and Kubu Raya. Eight out of 14 districts and cities in the province actively participated in the program.
Despite its success, SRP encountered challenges such as the high cost of palm oil, difficulties in managing land documents from banks, a shortage of teams to assist smallholders in the field, and issues related to plantation map and data synchronization.
