“In the palm oil industry, environmental concerns are paramount. He emphasized the importance of adopting innovative waste processing methods to ensure that water is not polluted before disposal. This approach is essential for achieving long-term sustainability in the palm oil sector. “If the liquid waste contaminates the water, it becomes a problem of national significance,” he added.

Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) was assigned to asses the effectiveness of RT – ECO, namely to be implemented in small scale palm oil mills. “I instructed MPOB to evaluate the technology in a whole by focusing on its effectiveness and durability before implementing it in bigger scale, namely for the mills locally,” he said.

Malaysia, as the second biggest palm oil producer after Indonesia, exported about 15 million metric tons of CPO and its derivative every year. RT-ECO that Meru Jaya POME Solutions developed, applied electro-chemical method to process POME, made wastes safe and could be recycled in the factory, according to the sustainable standards in the globe.

In the visit, General Director of MPOB, Datuk Dr Ahmad Parveez Ghulam Kadir and Chairman of Meru Jaya POME Solutions Sdn Bhd, Tan Sri Dr SA Vigneswaran did attend. (P2)
