BPDP Approves 42 Educational Institutions for 2026 Plantation Human Resources Development Program

PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA — The Plantation Fund Management Agency or Badan Pengelola Dana Perkebunan (BPDP) has officially approved 42 educational institutions to participate as organizers in the 2026 Plantation Human Resources Development Education Program.

The decision was announced through Official Notice Number PENG-3/BPDP/2026 issued on May 11, 2026.

The program forms part of the government’s broader effort to strengthen the quality of human resources in Indonesia’s plantation sector, particularly the palm oil industry, through support for vocational and academic education programs across the country.

In its announcement, BPDP stated that all selected institutions had passed a proposal evaluation and assessment process conducted in accordance with regulations previously established by the agency’s President Director.

The approved institutions include universities and polytechnic schools from various regions across Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, and Sulawesi. The selected study programs cover a wide range of disciplines, including agribusiness, agrotechnology, oil palm cultivation, plantation product processing technology, mechanical engineering, and industrial engineering technology.

Among the institutions listed are INSTIPER Yogyakarta, Politeknik Kelapa Sawit Citra Widya Edukasi, Institut Teknologi Sawit Indonesia, Politeknik LPP Yogyakarta, Universitas Hasanuddin, Universitas Jambi, and Politeknik Pertanian Negeri Samarinda.

In addition to undergraduate degree programs, BPDP is also placing strong emphasis on vocational education from D1 to D4 levels. The approach reflects the government’s focus on developing technically skilled and job-ready workers to meet the evolving needs of the national palm oil industry.

The most common study programs approved under the scheme include agribusiness, agrotechnology, plantation crop cultivation, palm oil processing technology, and plantation product processing engineering.

BPDP also emphasized that the selection results are final and cannot be contested. The number of participants allocated to each study program will be determined later through a separate decree issued by the BPDP President Director.

In the announcement, BPDP President Director Eddy Abdurrachman reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to maintaining integrity and improving service quality for stakeholders in the plantation sector.

“BPDP is committed to maintaining integrity and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction in realizing an Integrity Zone toward a Corruption-Free Region,” the official statement said, as quoted by InfoSAWIT on Thursday (14/5/2026).

The plantation human resources development program has become one of the government’s key instruments in supporting the sustainability of Indonesia’s palm oil industry, particularly in producing competent workers capable of addressing the challenges of a modern and sustainable plantation sector.
