Malaysia CPO Futures Fall on September 3, KPBN Inacom Price Rises to IDR 16,098

Bursa Malaysia CPO futures declined across most contracts on Thursday, pressured by weaker soybean oil futures and limited fresh export demand, while KPBN Inacom’s CPO price rose 0.61% to IDR 16,098 per kg.

PALMOILMAGAZINE, KUALA LUMPUR — Crude palm oil (CPO) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives extended their decline on Thursday (September 3, 2026), pressured by weaker soybean oil futures and a lack of fresh buying from key export destinations.

According to Bernama, nearly all CPO futures contracts closed lower on Thursday.

The September 2026 contract fell RM13 to RM4,635 per metric ton. The October 2026 contract declined RM63 to RM4,768 per ton, while the November 2026 contract dropped RM54 to RM4,904 per ton.

The December 2026 contract slipped RM47 to RM5,018 per ton. The January 2027 contract fell RM41 to RM5,107 per ton, while the February 2027 contract declined RM40 to RM5,169 per ton.

Despite the price decline, trading activity increased. Trading volume rose to 137,648 lots from 94,460 lots on Wednesday (September 2, 2026).

However, open interest declined to 338,419 contracts from 339,030 contracts previously.

Meanwhile, physical CPO prices for the Southern region for September remained unchanged at RM4,670 per ton.

 

KPBN Inacom CPO Price Edges Higher

In contrast to Bursa Malaysia, the CPO price in the PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) Inacom tender rose on Thursday.

KPBN Inacom set its CPO price at IDR 16,098 per kg, up IDR 98 per kg, or around 0.61%, from IDR 16,000 per kg on Wednesday (September 2, 2026).

The contrasting movements highlighted a divergence between Indonesia’s domestic CPO market and Malaysia’s futures market on Thursday. While the KPBN Inacom CPO price edged higher, most Bursa Malaysia CPO futures contracts ended lower. (P3)
