PALMOILMAGAZINE, SAMPIT – The Garuda PKH Task Force installed a land seizure notice on PT Global Alam Perkasa’s 12,069-hectare plantation in Km. 35, Rongkang Hamlet, Natai Baru Village, North Mentaya Hilir District, Sampit, on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. This action prompted a response from Yunan Nasution, Chairman of the Duta Sampit NGO, who questioned the legal basis for the seizure.
As an environmental activist, Yunan stated that he had attended multiple ISPO and RSPO certification events at PT Global Alam Perkasa. He emphasized that the company has been committed to sustainable plantation practices, evidenced by its ISPO certification, which it obtained on August 10, 2021.
“The company has fulfilled all mandatory ISPO certification requirements, which focus on legal compliance, good agricultural practices, environmental management, labor responsibility, social responsibility, community economic empowerment, transparency, and continuous business improvement,” Yunan told Palmoilmagazine.com on Friday, March 21, 2025.

He also pointed out that since the issuance of Presidential Regulation No. 44 of 2020, ISPO certification has been mandatory for all palm oil businesses. Therefore, he questioned why PT Global Alam Perkasa, a subsidiary of Musim Mas Group, was included in the government’s forest area enforcement list.
“This company has been operating in East Kotawaringin Regency for about 17 years. To our knowledge, PT Global Alam Perkasa has the necessary permits. We hope the government will reconsider and seek the best solution to this issue,” he added.
He stressed that sustainable environmental management by companies is crucial for the long-term viability of the palm oil industry. Therefore, he urged an objective evaluation of the land seizure to prevent disadvantages for businesses that have complied with government regulations. (P2)
