PALMOILMAGAZINE, PALANGKARAYA – The University of Palangka Raya (UPR), in collaboration with the Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA) Central Kalimantan Province, held a public lecture on Thursday (27/6/2024) at the Faculty of Agriculture. The lecture focused on discussing the prospects and challenges of palm oil as a sustainable mainstay and resource.
Muchtar Tanong, Head of Advocacy and Legal at IPOA and coordinator for the event, emphasized that the public lecture is part of a national program aimed at promoting the positive aspects of palm oil. He highlighted the importance of addressing and dispelling misconceptions and negative information surrounding palm oil.

Dean of Faculty of Agriculture, UPR, Wilson said that the public lecture would be about to deliver information, understanding for the students about palm oil which dominated the economy in the province. He also hoped, IPOA would get cooperation with the university.
“Besides delivering insight for our students about palm oil plantations, it is hoped the plantations companies and IPOA would cooperate with University of Palangka Raya,” he said.
IPOA Executive Secretary of Central Kalimantan, Rawing Rambang mentioned the program would be about to deliver understanding for the people about palm oil. IPOA would cooperate with university to help socialize the good about palm oil.
“Do not misunderstand about palm oil. We always hear negative campaigns. That is why we have to understand that palm oil contributes to regional and national scale – development,” he said. (P2)
