PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – In the recent days, the government through Ministry of Maritime and Investment established palm oil taskforce to improve palm oil governance through self-reporting by Sistem Informasi Perizinan Perkebunan (Siperibun).
Chairman of Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA), Eddy Martono said, his institution supports the government and would fully encourage to get the right and responsible data (about palm oil plantations).
“By Siperibun, the goal to get palm oil plantation data well and responsibly would be realized to publish the better policy (ies),” he said to Palmoilmagazine.com, Friday, (7/7/2023).

Eddy continued, IPOA socialized Siperibun to its members on Tuesday (4/7/2023) with Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Maritime and Investment. “It is hoped there would be right and responsible data (about palm oil plantations) to publish better policies in Indonesia” Eddy said.
Prior to improve palm oil plantation governance, the government obliged every planter both the corporate, company, smallholder, and institution, to report their plantation width, permits that started from 3 July to 3 August 2023.
Minister of Maritime and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said every party that has palm oil plantation should report to the government.
