PALMOILMAGAZINE, BANGKA BELITUNG – The government’s efforts to safeguard national assets in the forestry sector have achieved significant progress. As of October 1, 2025, the Forest Area Enforcement Task Force (Satgas PKH) successfully reclaimed 3,404,522.67 hectares of forest land across Indonesia. Of this total, approximately 1,507,591.9 hectares of oil palm plantations located within forest zones have been officially handed over and entrusted to PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara (Persero) for management.
Attorney General ST Burhanuddin presented this achievement to President Prabowo Subianto during a working visit to Bangka Belitung Province on Monday (October 6). On the same occasion, Burhanuddin also delivered a number of confiscated state assets to PT Timah Tbk, witnessed directly by the President.
According to Burhanuddin, the handover process to PT Agrinas has been carried out in four stages. Meanwhile, the remaining 1,814,632.64 hectares of reclaimed area are still undergoing verification before being transferred to the same state-owned company.

“Based on indicative valuation by the Directorate General of State Assets, the task force has reclaimed around 3.22 million hectares of oil palm plantations and land worth approximately Rp150 trillion, or an average of Rp46.55 million per hectare,” said Burhanuddin, as cited by Palmoilmagazine.com on Tuesday (October 7, 2025).
Beyond oil palm estates, Satgas PKH has also expanded its enforcement actions to the mining sector, identifying 5,342.58 hectares of mining land operating without official Forest Area Utilization Permits (PPKH) in Southeast Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, and North Maluku. Verification efforts have so far returned 5,209.29 hectares of land to the state from 39 corporate entities across seven provinces.
Burhanuddin further highlighted the persistence of illegal logging activities. Monitoring by authorities revealed that logging operations continue in 21,000 hectares of production forest in Sipora Island, Mentawai Islands District, West Sumatra, with around 500 hectares actively cleared since 2023.
“These illegal logging activities cannot merely be categorized as administrative violations—they constitute criminal offenses. Such practices damage the environment and endanger the sustainability of state forest resources. The Attorney General’s Office will pursue this matter thoroughly,” he affirmed.
Through the firm actions of Satgas PKH and coordinated inter-agency efforts, the government aims not only to reclaim national assets but also to reinforce fair and sustainable natural resource governance across Indonesia. (P2)
