The plantation company says its community initiatives are designed to provide direct benefits to residents while strengthening long-term relations with communities and local stakeholders.
PALMOILMAGAZINE, LABUHANBATU UTARA — PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara (Persero) has stepped up its social outreach to communities surrounding its plantation operations by holding a community market and providing free health services in Sukarame Village, Kualuh Hulu District, North Labuhanbatu, North Sumatra.
Held at the Sukarame Village Office, the initiative featured two main activities: the distribution of basic food packages through the company’s Community Market Program and free health checkups for local residents.

The Community Market Program is intended to help residents access essential food products at more affordable prices. Meanwhile, the free health services are aimed at raising public awareness of the importance of maintaining good health and undergoing regular medical checkups.
The event was attended by the Kualuh Hulu District Head, heads of Sukarame and Sukarame Baru villages, the Kualuh Hulu Deputy Police Chief, the commander of Military District Command 01/Aek Kanopan, the head of Sukarame Community Health Center, as well as Agrinas Palma Nusantara executives and employees.
Sukarnoto, Chief Region Officer for North Sumatra-Aceh at Agrinas Palma Nusantara, said the initiative reflected the company’s commitment to maintaining a presence in communities around its operational areas and delivering tangible benefits.

“We want the presence of Agrinas Palma Nusantara to be felt not only through our business activities, but also through social contributions that directly benefit the community. Through the Community Market and free health checkups, we hope to help ease residents’ daily needs while encouraging greater awareness of the importance of health,” Sukarnoto said in an official statement received by PalmOilMagazine on Wednesday (Sept. 9).
He said strong relations between plantation companies and surrounding communities were essential to creating a harmonious and sustainable operating environment.
“Communities are an important part of the ecosystem surrounding plantation areas. Therefore, we will continue to build communication and collaboration with village governments and residents to identify needs that can be addressed through the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental (TJSL) programs,” he added.

Meanwhile, Gatut Mukti, Head of Public Relations and TJSL at Agrinas Palma Nusantara, said the social initiative in Sukarame was designed to ensure that the company’s community programs provided tangible benefits and responded to local needs.
“Our TJSL programs are designed not merely as ceremonial activities, but to genuinely address community needs. The Community Market and free health services are examples of the company’s presence that can be directly felt by local residents,” Gatut said.
He added that implementing social programs around plantation areas also provided an opportunity for Agrinas Palma Nusantara to strengthen relations with local communities and stakeholders.

“We want to build strong and sustainable relationships with communities around our plantation areas. Through synergy with village governments and all stakeholders, we hope our future social programs will become increasingly targeted and generate a broader impact,” he said.
As part of its broader efforts to create sustainable benefits for communities around its operations, Agrinas Palma Nusantara has also established partnerships with two village cooperatives covering plantation maintenance, harvesting and the transportation of plantation products.
The company has also sought to empower local communities by providing employment opportunities to former employees of PT Grahadura Leidong Prima as well as residents of Sukarame Village.
