PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – In April 2024, crude palm oil (CPO) production totaled 4.115 thousand tons, marking a modest increase of 0.32% from 4.102 thousand tons in March 2024. Meanwhile, palm kernel oil (PKO) production rose by 0.52% from 391 thousand tons in March to 393 thousand tons in April.
However, total consumption in Indonesia during April declined by 0.26% compared to March 2024, dropping from 1,898 thousand tons to 1,893 thousand tons. Consumption in the food sector increased by 4.28% to 862 thousand tons in April, up from 827 thousand tons in March.
Oleo-chemical consumption saw a slight increase to 188 thousand tons from 187 thousand tons in March, whereas biodiesel consumption decreased by 4.67% to 842 thousand tons in April, down from 884 thousand tons in March.

In the exports, April 2024 exports got decreased 14,94 % or from 2.560 in March to be 2.178 thousand tons in April. “The decreasing exports in April happened in CPO (the biggest) that reached 46,7% or from 327 thousand tons in March to be 174 thousand tons,” Executive Director of Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA), Mukti Sardjono said, as in the official statement to Palmoilmagazine.com, Tuesday (25/6/2024).
The decreasing exports also happened in oleo-chemical that reached 17,05% or from 429 thousand tons in March to be 356 thousand tons in April; and CPO that reached 10,29 % or from 1.677 thousand tons in March to be 1.504 thousand tons.
The increasing exports in April happened in PKO that reached to be 6 thousand tons or from 0,2 thousand tons in March, in biodiesel to be 14 thousand tons from 5 thousand tons in March and PKO process to be 122 thousand tons from 121 thousand tons in March.
“The April 2024 exports got decreased 9,64% to be US$ 1.968 million from US$ 2.178 million in March. It happened for the decreasing volume and price or US$ 1.042/ton to be US$ 1.039/ton at CIF Rotterdam,” Mukti said. (P2)
