PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA — Izzana Salleh has officially assumed the role of Secretary General of the Council of Palm Oil Producing Countries (CPOPC), bringing with her a renewed direction and a firm commitment to advancing a sustainable and equitable global palm oil industry.

In her inaugural remarks delivered virtually during a press conference attended by Palmoilmagazine.com on Wednesday (May 28, 2025) in Jakarta, Izzana expressed deep appreciation for her predecessors, recognizing their efforts in laying a strong foundation for the organization’s future.
“I would like to extend my highest appreciation to the previous leaders who have built a solid base and ensured a smooth transition for the new leadership team,” she said.

Outlining CPOPC’s medium-term vision for the 2025–2028 period, Izzana emphasized the organization’s goal to elevate the role of member countries in global sustainability dialogues. She also stressed the importance of strengthening their strategic presence in matters related to future energy and climate resilience.

“We are committed to advocating for palm oil producers, promoting fair and science-based production standards, and sharing best practices globally,” she added. Izzana underlined that CPOPC’s approach is rooted in the belief that responsibly produced palm oil from member states can be a force for good.

“This industry not only supports the livelihoods of millions of smallholder farmers, but also plays a critical role in strengthening food and energy security, and contributes to climate solutions through innovation and research,” she said.

Izzana also highlighted the need for strategic dialogue and transparent collaboration among stakeholders. CPOPC, she affirmed, is ready to lead with integrity, clear purpose, and a spirit of unity.
“We welcome honest and open partnerships, and look forward to leading together toward a better, more sustainable future,” she concluded.

She also took the opportunity to thank those who have supported the leadership transition and affirmed CPOPC’s readiness to embrace future collaborations.
