Palmoilmagazine.com, MEDAN – The Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA) North Sumatra recently held its fifth regional meeting with the aim of electing a new leader. This meeting holds immense significance for stakeholders in the palm oil industry as they gather to shape the future of this vital sector in the province.
The annual event serves as a platform for the election of new leadership within the organization. Alexander Maha, who served as the Chairman of IPOA North Sumatra from 2018 to 2023, expressed his readiness to step aside and pass the baton to new leadership. With his term coming to an end, he believes it is time for fresh perspectives and ideas to guide the institution. “That is why it is hoped that the regional meeting would get new competent leader and would face every challenge,” he said to Palmoilmagazine.com.

For information, the tradition in IPOA North Sumatera is that the chairman was from PT Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN). Alexander Maha had good track at PTPN III. He was in many strategic positions before he was the Commissioner at PT Jasa Tania (Jastan), one subsidiary of Enterprises. His good experiences in palm oil industries would be the valuable asset for IPOA North Sumatera.
The meeting was attended by IPOA Chairman, Edi Martono; General Secretary IPOA, Hadi Sugeng Wahyudi. Their presence showed that IPOA supports IPOA North Sumatera. They hoped the regional meeting would elect new leadership within quality and clear vision to develop palm oil plantations in the province. (T5)
