PALMOILMAGAZINE, MEDAN – “In an effort to strengthen ties, foster collaboration, enhance knowledge exchange, facilitate cultural interaction, and build a professional network between Malaysia and Indonesia, the Indonesian Planters Society (IPS) and The Incorporated Society of Planters (ISP) formalized a memorandum of understanding (MoU).
The MoU was signed by Datuk Haji Daud Amatzin, Chairman of ISP Malaysia, and Jamalul, Chairman of IPS, at Le Polonia Hotel in Medan, North Sumatra, on December 8, 2023.
Jamalul, the Chairman of IPS, expressed that the collaboration with ISP stems from their recognition of ISP’s extensive experience in Malaysia. He stated, ‘ISP Malaysia has been operating for more than 100 years, while IPS has only been in existence for six years. It is natural for IPS to seek knowledge and gain insights on professionally managing an organization, particularly in the palm oil sector.’ This statement was provided in the official release to Palmoilmagazine.com on Monday, December 11, 2023.
Jamalul also emphasized that the collaboration would reinforce planters’ human resources for both sides and reinforce to fight negative campaigns about palm oil industries that many other countries do.
Meanwhile Chairman of ISP Malaysia, Datuk Haji Daud Amatzin said that it needs to reinforce palm oil plantations and block negative campaigns from other countries. He also said that ISP was established in October 1919 and it is 104 years. “Until now we never get budget from the Government of Malaysia. We stand on our feet and fund ISP by ourselves,” Daud Amatzin said.
For information, IPS was established on 7 January 2018 by some Indonesian planters that care about to have one professional organization in Indonesia. IPS independently operate and collaborate with the government, plantation stakeholders, academy, researchers, smallholders, organizations, and other plantation organization. IPS has legal permit. (T2)
