PALMOILMAGAZINE, SIMPANG EMPAT – Mahyeldi Ansharulah, Governor of West Sumatera stressed the importance of ensuring guaranteed work health and safety for workers in the palm oil industry.
He made these remarks while attending the national commemoration month of Work Health and Safety at PT Bakrie Pasaman Plantation in Sungai Aur Pasaman Barat on Monday.
During his speech, Governor Mahyeldi emphasized the need for palm oil companies in the province to prioritize the realization of safe working conditions for their employees. He highlighted that the Work Health and Safety month should serve as an opportunity to raise awareness and enhance attention to these critical issues within each company.
He continued by delivering work health and safety guarantee for the workers and labors, the companies would create comfort to work and minimize work errors. “This would escalate not only productivity and production in the company but also conducive investment climate,” he said, as Palmoilmagazine.com quoted from Antara, Wednesday (7/2/2024).
Governor Mahyeldi also emphasized the roles of West Sumatera Province through Labor and Transmigration Agency would develop each company about work health and safety. In the event, he handed over awards to palm oil companies in Regency of Pasaman Barat that showed their commitment in work health and safety.
Meanwhile General Manager PT BPP Pasaman Barat, Agry Adhyta told that the company did series of activity to commemorate work health and safety with th theme “Budayakan K3 Sehat dan Selamat dalam Bekerja untuk Menjaga Keberlangsungan Usaha”. The company is highly committed to it for each worker and labor including delivering technical explanation so that there would not be work error but work safety.
PT BPP Pasaman Barat that has about 1.500 workers, showed its care to the people around by having social activity, such as, massively circumcision freely, blood donor, and others. The company also distributed its corporate social responsibility to the people around, involved local business in work health and safety month. (T2)
