PALMOILMAGAZINE, ACEH – Director of PT Pembangunan Aceh (PEMA), Ali Mulyagusdin, announced plans for the construction of a palm oil refinery in Aceh, leveraging crude palm oil from various districts within the province. “The palm oil refineries will be established in locations that are still under study,” he stated, as reported by Aceh Journal National Network on Sunday (21/4/2024).
In addition to refinery construction, PT PEMA intends to engage in palm oil shell trading, with collection points established at Kuala Langsa Port. “We are conducting feasibility studies and mapping out the supply chain,” Ali explained.
Emphasizing the company’s pivotal role in optimizing port infrastructure in Aceh to support commodity production, Ali underscored the significance of fostering future industrial development. “Our focus remains on poverty alleviation, minimizing unemployment, and boosting revenue in Aceh Province,” he affirmed.

Previously, PT PEMA conducted its inaugural sulfur commodity lifting operation through Kuala Langsa Port. Ali noted that while the initial operation took place at Blang Lancang Port, Lhokseumawe, it has now shifted to Kuala Langsa Port. “This relocation is expected to increase transactions and revitalize every port in Aceh Province. We hope that Langsa continues to evolve as the primary trade and service hub in eastern Aceh,” he remarked.
Ali expressed confidence that effective management of Kuala Langsa Port will significantly contribute to economic development in Aceh. In addition to revenue escalation in the region, the collaboration is anticipated to generate employment opportunities, while the public stands to benefit from enhanced infrastructure, attracting further investment in the province.
