In his remarks, Zulkifli stressed the mandatory nature of Amdal as stipulated in Article 4 of Government Regulation No. 22/2021. “Every business and/or activity with potential environmental impact must have an Amdal, UKL-UPL, or SPPL,” he said, as quoted from DLH West Sulawesi (August 26, 2025).

He also underlined that this aligns with the directives of West Sulawesi Governor, Suhardi Duka, to balance environmental preservation with sustainable economic growth. “This reflects the province’s commitment to ensuring that development proceeds in harmony with nature,” Zulkifli added.

Previously, DLH’s Technical Team had reviewed the Terms of Reference (KA) on January 22, 2025. With this latest assessment, local authorities aim to ensure that PT Mitra Andalan Sawit’s Andal, RKL, and RPL comply with the approved framework, laying the foundation for an environmentally responsible palm oil processing industry.
